Reflecting on Bible Quizzing: A Journey of Growth
My name is Ossuo Jude; I'm the team leader of GCBC Piercing of the CQA. I'm thrilled to share my thoughts on Bible Quizzing and its impact on my spiritual and academic growth.
The quiz has been an incredible journey for me! It's not just about answering questions; it's about deepening our understanding of Scripture and applying its principles to our lives. Through this experience, I've grown spiritually by developing a stronger faith in Christ — and morally by learning valuable lessons from the Bible. Academically, the quiz has enhanced my cognitive skills, particularly in recalling information.
Being a part of the CQA (Cameroon Quizzing Association) has fostered my personal growth powerfully. I've learned to concentrate, focus, and think rapidly through scriptural memorization.
Furthermore, it has developed within the fundamental Baptist youth a community where we've formed lasting bonds with teammates while learning valuable skills — one of which has been teamwork. Together, we've come to discover that Scripture memorization does not weaken academic abilities, but firmly believe that it enhances cognitive skills. Bible quizzing requires and promotes discipline, focus, and mental ability — all essential skills for academic growth or success.
I could remember the first CQA quiz from the book of Matthew. I never came even among the top ten quizzers, but when the second quiz followed, I was among the top three.
In conclusion, the quiz has been a transformative experience for me in helping me grow spiritually and academically. I encourage others to embark on this Bible Quiz journey! I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my reflection on the quiz, and I hope it inspires you to get involved in the quiz or create a quiz team in your church to explore the world of quizzing.
