Inspiring the Next Generation Through Bible Quizzing in Nigeria
Samuel Amachree of Port Harcourt Independent Baptist Church shares how Bible Quizzing is transforming youth in Nigeria.

I've observed that many youths today spend a lot of time on their phones and on social media. However, Bible quizzing is a powerful medium to draw youths closer to studying God's word, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to have it here in Nigeria.

My experience in the quiz has been mind-blowing and very insightful. I love how the questions are asked and the equipment used during the quiz. It keeps us on our toes, emphasizing the seriousness of the event.

We have seen the impact of the quiz on the quizzers, and we want to see more of this in the future — more kids studying their Bibles, more than spending time on social media and other things that take them away from God. I believe this to be an impactful way to cause a great change in society, and we are expecting many such quizzes, and for the quiz to continue to expand to other Nigerian Fundamental Baptist churches and other African countries.

I still vividly remember when I first heard about the Bible Quiz competition being introduced here in Nigeria. I was filled with excitement, knowing the profound impact it could have on our youth and children — especially in a world increasingly affected by moral decline. It immediately struck me as a powerful way to help young people spend meaningful time with God through His Word.

Since its introduction, we have successfully held three quiz sessions in Nigeria, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. I've been privileged not only to help plan the events alongside a team of dedicated individuals but also to serve as a quiz master. It has been deeply rewarding to witness young people — both children and teenagers — engage with Scripture in such a committed and enthusiastic way.

Their ability to answer challenging questions has often left us astonished, and more importantly, it shows they are studying their Bibles. This is the very heart of why we host the quiz: to encourage a deeper relationship with God through His Word. And yes, serving God should be joyful — this quiz has been a fun and inspiring way to do just that.

I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Godwill Penn for his remarkable selflessness in bringing the Bible Quiz to Nigeria, despite his demanding commitments in Cameroon. May God continue to bless him for his dedication to this vision.

To everyone who has contributed to the success of this initiative, I pray for God's abundant blessings upon your lives. As the Bible Quiz continues to spread to other African countries, I am confident that God will provide every resource needed to carry on this important work. May His name be glorified always!
